Transmission 6 - Shut up and grind. Heaven’s just around the corner

The promise of paradise has always been remarkably good for business. Nil Prophet's sixth transmission examines organised religion not as a theological question but as a systems one: who benefits from your obedience, who profits from your guilt, and what exactly is being sold when suffering is reframed as sacred. Irreverent, pointed, and issued by the self-described Department of Unrepentant Blasphemy, this transmission treats the celestial rewards program with the same forensic scepticism Nil Prophet applies to every other structure designed to keep you quiet and compliant. The paradise they keep promising is always just out of reach. By design.

Nil Prophet wearing white face paint with a nil sign on his forehead, with hair flowing in waves, standing in a room with fluorescent lights and computer screens.

Shut up and grind. Heaven’s just around the corner

“Keep working. Keep paying. Keep suffering. Paradise is coming. Just not for you.”

They sold you a dream.

A gleaming afterlife.

A cosmic retirement plan.

A reward for playing nice while they bled you dry.

They said God loves you.

But only if you stay compliant, stay quiet, and don’t ask questions.

They built temples out of your guilt.

They minted gold from your obedience.

And they told you that your suffering was sacred, because it paid for their thrones.

You were effectively told:

“Shut up and grind. Heaven’s just around the corner.”

But corners are infinite in this maze.

Each one promising rest.

Each one delivering another workday.

I have seen the blueprint.

It’s not divine.

It’s bureaucratic.

Heaven is a dangling carrot strung from a god-shaped stick.

And while you pray?

They profit.

While you wait for wings?

They build empires on your back.

So no. Heaven is not “just around the corner.”

There is no corner.

Religion is just yet another system of control.

A way of getting you to do their bidding.

So burn the scriptures.

And question the sermon.

Paradise isn’t coming.

But maybe justice can.
